 Testing for Licensed Operator and Pyrotechnic Operator

Individuals applying to test for a Licensed Operator and/or Pyrotechnic Operator must submit an "Application for Licensed Operator/Pyrotechnic Operator Examination" to be eligible to take the examination. 

Preregistration is required.  Applications must be received by the Division 20 business days prior to the scheduled exam date. 

Testing will be held at the Missouri Division of Fire Safety headquarters, 2401 E. McCarty, Jefferson City, MO.

Participants are allowed to use applicable copies of NFPA 1123 and/or NFPA 1126 during the exam, however, individuals must furnish their own copy as these publications are not furnished by the Division.

Test Schedule

  • Monthly Testing, 3rd Saturday of each month, at Jefferson City office, 10:00 a.m.  MUST BE REGISTERED
  • Regional Testing available, see our Calendar
