Attention First Responders, EMS and Law Enforcement

     A joint partnership has been formed between the Missouri Division of Fire Safety, the University of Missouri Fire Rescue Training Institute (MUFRTI), and the Missouri Emergency Response Commission, to provide Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Level Training at no cost.  The training is provided through a contract between the Missouri Division of Fire Safety and the University of Missouri Fire Rescue Training Institute (MUFRTI).

     To request a class you can contact the University of Missouri Fire Rescue Training Institute (MUFRTI) Regional Training Coordinator through the web at http://mufrti.org, by calling 800-869-3476 or contact your Local Emergency Planning Commitee/District (LEPC or LEPD).

     Individuals seeking certification through the Missouri Division of Fire Safety will be eligible for certification testing after successfully completing a Missouri Division of Fire Safety approved Hazardous Materials Awareness and/or Hazardous Materials Operations course.

Students taking a Missouri Division of Fire Safety approved Hazardous Materials Operations Course must complete and pass the course practical skills evaluation component administered by a DFS approved evaluator immediately at the conclusion of the course in order to be considered for state certification through the Missouri Division of Fire Safety.

THE COURSE INSTRUCTOR CAN NOT SERVE AS THE COURSE PRACTICAL SKILLS EVALUATOR.
